Vocational education, a pivotal component of national education systems, plays a crucial role in nurturing diverse talents, preserving technical expertise, and fostering employment and entrepreneurship. The "National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan" issued by the State Council in 2019 emphasized the equal importance of vocational education alongside general education. Higher vocational education, a subset of vocational education, has seen substantial growth in recent years, with a rising number of institutions and students. However, higher vocational students often face challenges such as weak learning foundations, low motivation, disinterest in their majors, attendance issues, excessive internet use, dropouts, and academic dishonesty, leading to a concerning increase in learning burnout.
This paper addresses the escalating issue of learning burnout among higher vocational students. It delves into the factors and mechanisms contributing to this phenomenon and explores strategies to mitigate learning burnout, enhance learning motivation, and promote the overall well-being of higher vocational students. Drawing from recent research findings, including studies conducted by Liu Yan, Peng Cong, and Chen Jianwen (2021) and Lu Peipei and Zhou Jing (2019), this study seeks to shed light on the path forward for improving the educational experience of higher vocational students.
