Non-pneumatic anti-shock garment (NASG) is a lifesaving first aid pressure device that reverses hypovolemic shock, thereby decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality caused by postpartum hemorrhage. The aim of the study was to determine availability of non-pneumatic anti-shock garment for control of postpartum hemorrhage by Midwives in government hospitals in Imo state. The objectives of the study were to determine whether the non-pneumatic anti-shock garment is available for use by midwives for control postpartum hemorrhage in government hospitals in Imo state, to find out midwives’ sources of awareness of the availability of non-pneumatic anti-shock garments for their use in management of postpartum hemorrhage in government hospitals in Imo state and to determine the extent to which midwives are knowledgeable to the availability of non-pneumatic anti shock garment for control of postpartum hemorrhage in the government hospitals in Imo state. Descriptive cross-sectional design was used for the study with sample size of 260 Midwives. Data collection was carried with self-structured questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using frequency, percentages and mean for the demographic variables and research questions while Chi-Square test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significant. The results showed awareness of availability was 50% for Midwives usage in all government hospitals in Imo the result on awareness of the availability showed a mean score of 1.6, which showed that Midwives in maternity units of government hospitals in Imo State were aware of non-pneumatic anti-shock garment. The hypothesis on usage of NASG Vs. awareness of availability of non-pneumatic anti-shock garment in maternity units showed p-value of 0.000 indicating that there was a significant association between "Usage of non-pneumatic anti-shock garment" and "Awareness" of non-pneumatic anti-shock garment availability in the maternity units. Midwives should intensify campaigns in the communities on availability, usage of NASG, and its benefits in reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality
