Abstract

This study was carried out to assess the factors affecting the quality of building construction project in Enugu urban, Enugu State Nigeria. The main aim of the study is to examine the factors affecting the quality of building construction project in Enugu metropolis with a view of providing formidable solution to the identified factors affecting the quality of building construction project in Enugu urban, Enugu State Nigerian. The specific goals are as follows; to identify the factors affecting the quality of building construction project in Enugu urban, Enugu State Nigeria; to ascertain the impact of quality management om building construction project; to evaluate mitigation measures to the identified factors that affect the quality of the construction projects. The survey research design was used for the study. The targeted population are 30 builders, 90 quantity surveyors, 50 Architect and 45 Engineers. Summing the total population of the respondent to be 215. The findings of the study reveals that Cost has a positive relationship with construction project delivery in Enugu urban, Enugu State Nigeria. Time has a positive relationship with construction project delivery in Enugu urban, Enugu State Nigeria. Quality has positive relationship with the construction project delivery in Enugu urban, Enugu State Nigeria. This implies that a unit increase in cost, time and quality will lead to increase in construction project delivery in Enugu urban, Enugu State Nigeria. The study recommends that there is need for relevant authorities in the building industry to examining the possible ways to reduce the increasing cost of building materials so as to enhances the building construction industry in Nigeria
