Abstract

The properties of underground water within the saturated zone in Ogwashi geological formation were investigated during dry and wet season. Forty – Six (46) underground water samples were collected from nine (9) saturated zone within the Ogwashi geological formation. Major underground water parameter tests like; Temperature, pH, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Acidity, Alkalinity, Hardness, Total Dissolved Solid, Total Suspended Solids, Chloride, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulphate, Ammonia, Phosphate, Nitrate, Nitrite, Carbon Dioxide, Iron and Manganese were conducted on the collected underground water samples from the saturated zone. It was found that within the Ogwashi geological formation, underground water in the saturated zone of the study area at both dry and wet seasons are suitable for drinking, agriculture and other purpose.
