The process that unearths the advancement in technology placed the challenge of digitalisation on almost every sphere of human activities and interactions. Few years into the Millennium, it was dawn on scholars that the knowledge in digital technology is the guarantee for relevance. Digital technology has, like, in other human activities, revolutionised theatre practice and therefore, should have necessitated a juxtaposition of the traditional method with the pedagogical skills acquisition in the study of theatre arts. This paper examines theatre practice, pedagogical skills and its relevance in the acquisition of knowledge in digital technology for theatre practice. The methodology chosen for this discourse is the descriptive and deductive methods. Our Theoretical Framework is Jean Duvignaud’s Sociological Theory - “Whatever significance we attach to the theoretical traditions, we need to acknowledge that theatre practice and its varying genres change in the same way as the presentation of human being and his inner world under the influence of the aesthetic experience of a contemporary society.” Digital technology is a social manifestation and thus, it is important for theatre to accommodate the implementation into its practice. The paper concludes that the required transformation of theatre practice depends on the study of relevant courses in computer science for the digitalisation of theatre practice.
