Philosophical research methodology in social science presents unique challenges and opportunities in understanding human behavior and societal dynamics. This paper delves into the complexities surrounding the philosophical research methodology in social science, exploring its fundamental challenges. By examining the intersection of philosophy and social science research, this study aims to elucidate the inherent difficulties researchers encounter when navigating the philosophical underpinnings of their methodologies. Through a comprehensive analysis, this paper seeks to shed light on the intricate relationship between philosophy and social science research, offering insights into the epistemological and methodological dilemmas that researchers grapple with in their quest for knowledge. Overall, the review paper recommends among other things that; addressing these challenges requires researchers in philosophical research methodology to engage in reflective practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and dialogue with both philosophical and social science communities. It also necessitates a recognition of the dynamic and evolving nature of both philosophy and the social sciences
