Abstract

The study evaluated the influence of culture and socio- economic factor on female entrepreneurship in Enugu state. Specific objectives were to: examine the influence of belief and values on revenue generation of female entrepreneurship in Enugu state and evaluate the influence of religion on the employment generation of female’s entrepreneurship in Enugu state. The study employed survey method research. The population of the study was made up of the selected female entrepreneurs in Enugu North local government of Enugu state with three hundred and ninety-seven (397) entrepreneurs.  Primary and secondary source of date was used. 356 of the respondents filled and returned questionnaire correctly. The data collected from the questionnaire were presented in a frequency tables, means scores and percentages were used in the analysis and Pearson co-relation (r) statistic tool was used to test the hypotheses, determine the nature, and strength of the research variables. The findings indicated that Belief and values had positive influence on the revenue generation of female entrepreneurship in Enugu state, r(95, n = 356),.094<.908,p  = < .05. Religion had positive influence on the employment generation of female’s entrepreneurship in Enugu state, r(95, n = 356), .737<.908,p  = < .05. The study concluded that the influence of belief and values, religion and family background had a significant effect on revenue generation, employment generation and on female education of female entrepreneurs in Enugu state.  The study recommended among others that Education should made essential part for societal development and improvement in all aspects of life regardless of background, financial status and gender.
