Abstract

The current global challenge of inadequate power generation ensues from geometric increase in human population, the fast-receding concentration of fossil fuels coupled with inadequate food security and ever-increasing demand for energy. In order to solve these myriads of challenges which includes climate change, the adoption of green economy worldwide becomes inevitable. This encompasses integration of sustainable practices across various sectors, including energy, transportation, agriculture and manufacturing. The generation of energy from fossil fuels is no longer sustainable, hence, the need for production of economically feasible and eco-friendly renewable energy fuels which has microorganisms and their metabolic processes as its stronghold. Scientists and innovators would have to engage microorganisms in natural environment to generate renewable energy fuels from the biomass and biological wastes which can simultaneously diminish these menacing concerns as well as replace conventional fuels. Alternative energy sources when exploited in a sustainable fashion would mitigate adverse effects of climate change, food insecurity, high global carbon footprints, inadequate power supply and the likes. This is the approach to follow for economic, social and industrial peace
