Abstract

The desire to run a successful Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is a goal entrepreneurs seek to achieve because of the ripple effect of the potentials to create opportunities for employment, revenue generation for the individuals among others. This study therefore investigated the effects of entrepreneurial business consciousness on sales growth of selected SMEs in Yola South Local Government Adamawa State. The theory underpinning this study is the Resource Base View (RBV) which contends that certain assets and capabilities provide the foundation for a competitive advantage, and thereby set the stage for substantial wealth creation. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design to examine the effects of entrepreneurial business consciousness and SMEs success of registered SMEs in Yola Local Government Adamawa State because it provides a high level of general capability in representing a large population at a point in time. Data collected was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical technique. A simple regression was used and the  result  taking all factors constant at zero, sales growth of selected SMEs in Yola South was 2.737. The finding indicates that taking the independent variable at zero, a unit change in business consciousness will lead to a 0.255 increase in sales growth of selected SMEs in Yola South LG of Adamawa State.  The study recommends that the Federal and State government should further improve on the provision of innovative technology to support the SMEs in Yola South LG of Adamawa State, to help improve on the SMEs business innovativeness
