USE OF PLAY THERAPY IN PROMOTING EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING OF HOSPITALIZED CHILDREN

The use of play therapy has been found to be highly effective in promoting emotional well-being of hospitalized children. It utilizes play and creative activities to facilitate a positive and supportive environment for children in a medical setting. Play therapy not only helps to alleviate stress and anxiety but it also encourages a sense of control and self-expression in children. In addition, the use of play therapy allows for a collaborative and trusting relationship between the nurse and the child leading to positive outcomes in terms of emotional regulation and coping skills. This article explored the research and evidence supporting the use of play therapy in promoting the emotional well-being of hospitalized children providing insight into the potential benefits and implications for future research and clinical practice
