Abstract

The rate of corrosion of carbon immersed in sea water is the target focus of research scholars. This trend of study is subjected to an investigation of the rate of corrosion of carbon steel, immersed in sea water. Thus, the presentation of this study is one of such using MATLAB software for the data analysis. Analysis from the result depicts very strong relationship between the rate of corrosion of carbon steel and the time (weeks) in which the coupons are immersed in 500ml sea water at about 0.9993. This indicates that the rate of corrosion increases progressively with time (weeks) provided the coupons remains in the 500ml of sea water. Moreover, R Squared = 0.9993 also depicts that the model explains 99.9% of the variance in the corrosion rate.
