Abstract

Workshop management is a crucial practice for achieving effective conducive practical learning environments in higher institutions. The objective of this research was to create a model for a smart structure to oversee the operations within a contemporary university laboratory. In this prototype design, sensors, a relay module, and hardware devices were employed to monitor temperature, toxic gas levels, electric light intensity, water levels in the curing tank, and incidents of fire, with the Arduino serving as the microprocessor. The evaluation of the prototype indicated that the smart system can efficiently manage these intricate laboratory tasks with a success rate of up to 94.17%. Automation streamlines various unit operations in the laboratory, making them more efficient and transparent, ultimately enhancing smart learning and productivity within the educational sector.
