OBNOXIOUS POLICIES AND THE ECONOMY

Abstract

The policies of the government of a nation either attracts investors or scares them. Invariably it has its positive and negative consequence on the economy. The choice of Ghana over Nigeria as the Twitter Headquarters for West Africa, due to lack of freedom of speech, not obeying the rule of law and Nigeria’s role in enabling the African free trade. A huge loss indeed. The Obnoxious policies of president Bola Tinubu Led administration has worsened the economy of Nigeria from the removal of fuel subsidy, to the floating of the naira, increase in tax, increase in electricity tarrifs and recently increase in communication tarrifs. They have not only impoverished Nigerians the more, but led to more incidents of suicides. Death toll increases as citizens can’t afford their medical bills. Increase in out of school children, while yahoo-yahoo crimes escalate as the bodies of citizens are dismembered daily for ritual purposes.
