DEVELOPMENT OF PHYTO-REMEDIATION MODELS FOR LEAD CONTAMINATED SOIL FOR POTTED EXPERIMENTS IN ENUGU NORTH L.G.A., ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA

Abstract The study, development of phyto-remediation models for lead (Pb) contaminated soil in Enugu North L.G.A., Enugu State, Nigeria.  was conducted in potted experiments with six different level of Pb contamination. The experimental design was 2-factorial combination (6×1). The experimental duration was 10 weeks period. Analyzed results of the Pb content of the soil in intervals of two weeks during the study period and the Pb content of the plants’ root at week 10 were adopted for the study. The data collected were subjected to regression analysis, optimization and evaluation to obtain models of phyto-remediation for Pb in the contaminated soil.
