Abstract

Religion is one institution which enable individual shared common ground with other citizens/state, primarily is for inculcating good morals, maintaining peace and stability in every functional society. However, Religious functions is known to advocate peace and tranquility, in order to poster progress. The relationship between Religion and it Adherence is in a dilemma today many of us adherence engaged in warfare because of Religion. Various reactions for and against the role of Religion translated to a tool in which its adherent use to breed violence. Religion have translated modern day to be security imbalance. This paper analyzes the Role of Religion and how it implicates the state of peace in Nigerian society. The researcher uses analytical method to guild this work. The paper revealed the implications of foreign religions and how they insinuate violence related issues. This paper charges the adherent of foreign Religions to rethink and re-assessed their Religious content and use learned clerics to preach and teach peace in Nigerian society. The paper concludes by recommending possible way out to strive towards Hormoneus living and peaceful coexistence hoping to put forward progress and development within Nigeria.
