Abstract

Managers' attitudes can significantly impact organizational performance, several problems can affect these attitudes, thereby influencing overall effectiveness. This study investigated the “influence of managers’ attitude on organizational performance in selected pharmaceutical Companies in Anambra State. Specifically, it examined the relationship between the influence of a manager’s motivation on employees’ attitudes and the influence of managers' mutual achievement-oriented attitude on employee job satisfaction. This study employed a survey research design method with a sample size of 196 accurately filled and returned. Primary data was used in the collection of information from respondents with a questionnaire as an instrument for data collection. The study was analyzed using Arithmetic Mean and hypotheses were tested using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient with the aid of Statistical Packages of Social Science (SPSS version 20). The findings revealed a positive relationship between managers` motivation and employee attitudes among selected pharmaceutical companies, in Anambra state. Thus, in line with the findings of the study, it was concluded that attitude, job satisfaction, and employee motivation are useful tools for the task performance of the selected pharmaceutical companies in Anambra State and recommended that managers should recognize the relevance of the employee`s attitude in other to avoid the wrong attitude which produces low productivity and should create ways of improving the well-being of the employees to enhance their performance.
