The objectives of the study were to find out the availability of multimedia resources and to determine the extent to which teachers utilize multimedia resources to enhance pupils’ learning performance in public primary schools in Rivers State. In line with the objectives of the study, three research questions and two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised of 3896 male and 4816 female Primary School teachers. Cluster random sampling technique was adopted in selecting the sample size of 396 from 6 Primary schools from each of the three senatorial districts. A researcher-constructed questionnaire, structured on four-points rating scale of the extent of agreement was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by experts in Educational Technology and Educational Measurement and Evaluation. The reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach Alpha. The analysis yielded reliability indexes of 0.86, and 0.81. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study revealed that multimedia resources as television, computer system, video clips, graphics, and CD ROMs, were available at a high extent, while others such as audio Podcast, PowerPoint animated slides projectors, Internet facility, projector and motion pictures, were barely available. Also, the utilization of multimedia resources by teachers in public primary schools was both at a high and low extent of utility. It is therefore recommended that government and other stakeholders in primary education should encourage the use of multimedia resources for pupils’ learning performance in primary schools by providing adequate multimedia resources.
