Abstract

Everyone is a potential media manager; in this new information age. This paper evaluates issues about new technologies in media management. The researcher used the Uses and Gratifications theory to back up the study. Secondary data collection method utilized in this paper, using historical analytical approach research methodology. This study found out that Marshall McLuhan prediction that the world will become a global village is no longer speculations but a fulfillment and has gone beyond even becoming a global household, thus, media managers are utilizing the benefits of the new information age. The researcher concluded that the pull model of communication should be embraced by every journalist in the field to make the work easier. The researcher recommended that the government should provide the necessary technological devices for media managers and encourage on the job training for all the journalists to become skillful in the new technology.
