Over the last few decades, the global energy demand has increased continuously. Every area of our economic growth is significantly impacted by energy. It constitutes one of the most crucial instruments for advancing a country and its deficit can lead to hardship, poverty, a decline in economic activities, and many more negative impacts. This paper examined solar photovoltaic energy-generating systems in Bonny Island Rivers State. Solar energy was considered because It is one of the renewable energy sources because it is derived from the endless, pure, and environmentally safe energy that the sun provides. Unfortunately, the variable nature of the output of Photovoltaic systems decreases their reliability in delivering continuous maximum power to clients. This paper is aimed at optimizing solar PV systems using an ANFIS controller under partially shaded conditions. A Mathematical Model for the PV array was developed and simulation was performed using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The results obtained was shows that under partial shading at solar irradiance of 1000w/m^2, 900w/m^2, 672w/m^2 respectively. The ANFIS controller took less time to attain maximum power with greater stability better than the P&O controller by 2.690%, 1.729% and 3.074%. Hence, ANFIS MPPT controller is recommended for PV Systems.
